Auburn Planning Board continues cell tower and recycling facility reviews to September

AUBURN — July 8, 2025 — Auburn Planning Board continues two contested site plan reviews to September amid unresolved engineering concerns. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to push both a 140-foot wireless telecommunications tower proposed by New Singular Wireless at 174 Leicester Street and a recycling facility for Arbor Recycling at 47-49 Rockland Road to its September 9 meeting, after Chair Ronald E. Brooks pressed both applicant teams on missing erosion control designs, outstanding land disturbance permits, and incomplete drainage details. A motion to approve the cell tower application with conditions drew no second. The board also continued a car wash renovation review for 888 Southbridge Street LLC after Brooks noted the owner is under a cease-and-desist order for beginning work without permits. Separately, the board unanimously approved an Approval Not Required plan for 17 Arlington Street, subdividing a parcel with an existing 12-unit apartment building into eight lots meeting all dimensional requirements.
