Auburn schools present 4.19 percent FY27 budget, continue school choice

School Committee · Meeting of February 11, 2026

Auburn schools approve 4.19 percent FY27 budget, continue school choice. Superintendent Beth Chamberland presented the fiscal 2027 budget with a 4.19 percent increase, driven primarily by not filling six positions; the budget is 97 to 98 percent non-discretionary, committed to personnel, maintenance, and software contracts. The committee unanimously approved continuation of school choice at Auburn High School and Auburn Middle School for 2026-2027, with actual enrollment slots to be determined in March, and also approved a new Bring Change 2 Mind Student Activity Club with a $500 annual grant for mental health awareness.
