Auburn Select Board designates Apraxia Awareness Day, approves spring events. Voting 5-0 on April 27, the board proclaimed May 14 as Apraxia Awareness Day in honor of a child with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, supporting the advocacy of Barbara King, whose granddaughter attends Auburn Integrated Preschool. The board also voted unanimously to grant an Open Air License for the GFWC Auburn Junior Women's Club Duck Race on May 25 at the Auburn Public Library; co-presidents Nancy Barston and T Jablanski confirmed the 24th annual fundraiser would proceed as scheduled, and the board waived the license fee.
