Auburn Select Board Approves School Funding Transfer

Select Board · Meeting of March 23, 2026

Auburn schools get partial funding; board defers major budget votes. The Select Board unanimously approved an $85,489.28 transfer from the Special Education Stabilization Account for unanticipated special education outplacements, part of a $256,000 total need. The board recommended 17 routine warrant articles for the May 5 Annual Town Meeting but deferred the FY2027 budgets to April pending Finance Committee review.

The board also received six citizen petitions, including requests for Simonds Street parking safety, Potter Farm Estates road acceptance, manufactured housing rent control, baseball field improvements, and additional roadway funding, deferring most to April for departmental input.
