Finance Committee approves nearly $271,400 in emergency transfers

AUBURN — Finance Committee approves nearly $271,400 in emergency transfers for union settlements and fleet repairs. Chair Kevin Kennedy led the unanimous 7-0 approval of salary reserve and operational transfers across Police Department ($134,920), Department of Public Works ($50,000), Auburn Fire Rescue ($35,000), and other town departments. Town Accountant and Chief Financial Officer Karen Harnois reported all union contracts have been settled and the transfers would fund employee salaries through fiscal year end on June 30, 2026.
The Committee also rescheduled its February meeting to February 25 to align with the start of Fiscal Year 2027 departmental budget reviews.
