Finance Committee · Meeting of March 18, 2026

Auburn Finance Committee approves revised $7.59 million DPW operating budget following accounting discovery. The committee voted 5-2-0 to restore $194,492 in funding for a Fleet mechanic position and direct the remaining balance to roadway improvements after discovering an accounting error in the original proposal. Member Patrick Jones championed the restoration, citing the Select Board's stated priority to strengthen DPW operations; Member Stephen Consilvio opposed using the accounting error to justify new spending.

The revised budget passed 6-1-0 on the full vote. Separately, the committee approved FY2027 operating budgets for Development and Inspectional Services ($1,079,245), Solid Waste ($1,565,456), and Zoning Board of Appeals ($16,262), and three GEU settlement transfers totaling $3,640.
