Finance Committee · Meeting of February 26, 2026
Auburn Finance Committee unanimously recommends $86.1M FY2027 budget. Town Manager Dori A. Vecchio and Town Accountant/Chief Financial Officer Karen Harnois presented the proposal, which increases the tax levy by 2.18 percent to $51,757,000.
The Committee voted 7-0 to recommend the budget despite departmental requests totaling $88,006,857, approximately $1.9 million above the proposed plan. Major cost pressures include a 14 percent health insurance increase of $1.274 million, a $300,000 retirement cost increase, and a $300,000 Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School assessment increase; the Town negotiated down an initial 42 percent health insurance proposal.
