AUBURN — Fire Station Building Committee unanimously awards $21.3M general contractor contract to Castagna Construction. The committee voted unanimously on March 31 for the low bid, which creates savings under the construction documents estimate. Two alternates totaling $366,000 were also approved: $28,000 for radiant flooring in the apparatus bay and $338,000 for canopy parking, bringing the total contract to $21,633,000, pending the outcome of a bid protest.
A project kick-off meeting is scheduled for April 9, 2026, with a groundbreaking ceremony targeted for late May.
