School Committee approves $34 million FY27 budget, 7 new school choice spots

Auburn School Committee approves $33.97 million budget with 3.92 percent increase. Superintendent Beth Chamberland presented the FY27 budget incorporating $3.69 million in offsets and reflecting the district's response to a $100,000 town reduction request, including six unfilled positions and a $150,000 Title One Funding cut. The district projects $175,000 in increased Chapter 70 state funding and $170,000 in Medicaid reimbursement.

The committee also approved 7 school choice slots at Auburn Middle School and 16 at Auburn High School for 2026-2027 and adopted policy updates reverting Title 9 policies to their 2022 versions.
