Auburn School Committee unanimously approves the FY'27 budget as student account audit continues. Superintendent Beth Chamberland warned the district may need to cut deeper if the town does not approve the budget as presented; the school department has already declined to fill positions to meet current requirements. A 2024 audit found $21,170.65 in unexplained variance in the high school student activity account, attributed to years of human error in spreadsheet entries rather than missing funds.
The committee unanimously created a Policy Review Subcommittee to align district policies with state standards.
