Select Board advances land disturbance warrant to town meeting

Auburn Select Board places land disturbance warrant on meeting agenda. Vice Chair Todd M. Kirrane said the proposal addresses situations where developers clear-cut parcels after obtaining a disturbance permit but do not proceed with construction, leaving properties bare for extended periods.
The amendment would require building permits before land disturbance permits are issued and would triple the fee if land disturbing activities occur prior to permit issuance. The board voted 5-0 to advance the warrant article to the 2026 Annual Town Meeting.
