Zoning Committee Rejects In-Lieu Payments in Housing Ordinance Draft

Zoning Bylaw Review Committee · Meeting of February 9, 2026

Auburn's zoning committee rejects in-lieu payment option for inclusionary housing ordinance. The Zoning Bylaw Review Committee, reviewing a draft Inclusionary Zoning ordinance prepared by Assistant Town Manager Paul Dell'Aquila, rejected in-lieu payments, concluding that funding accumulation timelines would not adequately address affordable housing needs. The committee also required on-site integration of affordable units, striking off-site provisions.

The next meeting is scheduled for March 9, 2026.
