Auburn Conservation Commission Approves Two Development Orders, Continues Car Wash Hearing

AUBURN — August 13, 2025 — Auburn Conservation Commission approves wetland fill revisions and issues two orders of conditions. The commission unanimously approved an order of conditions for Eastland Partners' site work at 50 Washington Street after engineer Jim Bernardino of Turning Point Engineering revised the wetland fill proposal from 859 square feet down to 596 square feet, keeping the project's cumulative fill at 4,949 square feet and below a 5,000-square-foot restricted-covenant threshold. A two-to-one wetland replication of roughly 1,200 square feet and a drainage swale sized for a 100-year storm are required. The commission also approved an order of conditions for a 1,479-square-foot home addition and garage removal at 5 Predell Street, which includes excavation of historic dump fill and a two-year invasive-species monitoring plan. A certificate of compliance for 5 Willis Street was issued after commissioners confirmed the site work was complete and vegetation established. A determination-of-applicability hearing for a car wash upgrade at 888 Southbridge Street was continued to August 27 after the applicant's engineer did not appear and commissioners said they needed to inspect the site before ruling.
