Auburn library trustees reelect DeCourcey as chair in reorganization vote
Library · Meeting of June 4, 2026
Auburn library trustees reelect Mary K. DeCourcey as chair, then hear an ethics complaint. Trustees also elected Vera Corain vice chair, Nan Johnson treasurer and Erica Breesocker clerk, all by unanimous 6-0 roll call.
Youth Services Librarian Andrea Colibri, filling in for vacationing Director Mike Seller, reported foot traffic up 128 percent and museum pass use up 142 percent since last May, and said the library is seeking a state accessibility grant of up to $250,000 to redesign its circulation desk. Resident Al Rafferty told trustees during public comment that "it is a state ethics violation to use a political title to endorse another political candidate," alleging the board improperly endorsed a select board candidate in the town's last election using members' titles. The board took no action on the claim and adjourned unanimously.
