Auburn School Committee approves budget transfers, hears parking lot and superintendent updates

AUBURN — September 17, 2025 — Auburn School Committee approves internal budget transfers and launches superintendent search. The committee voted unanimously at its September 17 meeting to approve a list of budget transfers dated September 11, 2025, as presented by Business Manager Jen Stanic, who also introduced a new quarterly financial reporting format aligned with MASC best practices. Stanic warned that an elevated available budget balance in the first quarter of FY26 will drop sharply once out-of-district transportation and tuition costs are encumbered. Director of Finance and Operations Glenn Gregoire briefed the board on a $133,000 sinkhole repair at Swanson Road Intermediate School, funded within a previously approved $150,000 CIP transfer, with construction targeted to begin around October 1 and finish by mid-October. Chairperson Harrington reported that the superintendent search is accepting applications through October 31, with an unspecified number of candidates already in the pool.
