Board of Health · Meeting of September 14, 2026
Auburn Board of Health continues tobacco violation hearing to October 5, closes Dunkin's grease tank case. Chairman Eric Otterson led the three-member board through a roll-call vote to reopen, then immediately continue, a fourth-violation permit revocation hearing against In Style Galaxy News Stand at 385 Southbridge Street, with Otterson, Vice-Chair Kara Westerman and member Carolyn Griffin all voting 3-0 on both actions. The board separately confirmed that Dunkin's, at 386 Southbridge Street, withdrew its request for an external grease tank on September 3 after scaling its renovation back to exterior work only, closing a matter continued from July 22.
Otterson declared, "after this executive session, we will not be meeting back to adjourn," before the board voted 3-0 to enter closed session under M.G.L. c. 30A, § 21(a)(3) to discuss litigation strategy tied to the tobacco case. The board also set October 5 as its next meeting date and pulled minutes approval from Monday's agenda without rescheduling it.
