AUBURN — Finance Committee reorganizes and approves $312,750 in mid-year transfers. Michael Marshall was elected chair and Trevor Sansoucy as vice chair at the committee's July 15 meeting. The major action involved an omnibus transfer driven by a $287,648.67 group insurance account shortfall and $22,704.28 Medicare deficit, attributed to higher-than-anticipated health claims in the fiscal year and a six-month claims-reporting lag.
The committee also authorized Town Manager Dori Vecchio to respond to an Open Meeting Law complaint filed by resident Alan Rafferty regarding the committee's quorum status during a prior meeting. Patrick Jones recused from Fire Department votes; all major transfers were approved unanimously.
