AUBURN — Select Board authorizes police K9 camera grant, defers $15.2M bond vote. The Auburn Select Board unanimously approved a $3,779 Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog Grant for the Police Department's K9 unit helmet-mounted camera system, with Chief R. Scott Mills explaining the equipment would enhance officer and K9 safety by allowing real-time perspective viewing during searches.
The Board also unanimously approved a manager-change application for Outback Steakhouse at 452 Southbridge Street, an administrative change to the restaurant's LLC structure. Board members voted unanimously to schedule a special meeting for June 25 at 8 a.m. to vote on $15.2 million in bond anticipation notes for capital projects including a $14 million Fire Headquarters project after several members expressed concerns about unanswered questions in the bond documents.
