Auburn Housing Authority tenant blasts locked community room, board closes out $18,237 roofing payout. Pakachoag Village resident Terry Moriani told the board "we deserve better," describing a community room stripped of its kitchen, TV and books and now inaccessible to tenants during power outages. Executive Director Laurie Brennan reported the authority caught up roughly $65,000 in Group Insurance Commission premiums after losing system access, alongside a $52,000 semiannual retirement assessment.
The board voted unanimously to pay JJS Universal $18,237.07 to close out a Pakachoag Village roofing contract that ran 186 days over schedule after storm damage flooded three apartments, adding about $102,000 in repair costs. Members also began comparing 1971 bylaws against a new draft and scheduled an October 22 tenant meet-and-greet.
