Auburn Planning Board Approves Mathnasium Tenancy, Used-Car Dealership on Washington Street

AUBURN — December 9, 2025 — Auburn's Planning Board approved two site plan applications and a lot division at its December 9 meeting. The board cleared a site plan for Mathnasium, a math-tutoring franchise taking the rear unit of a redeveloped Sulford Street building operated by Central Mass Donut LLC, with conditions limiting instructional hours to noon to 7:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays; the building had been under a stop-work order from the building inspector. The board also approved a used-car dealership site plan for Gabriel Morera Codino at 500 Washington Street, requiring directional striping and an acknowledgment that the town retains its South Street and Washington Street rights-of-way — a condition raised after a DPW review flagged a potential encroachment that could complicate future sidewalk construction. Three applications — Fuss and O'Neill, Todd Ostrowski with Quality Contracting, and New Singler Wireless — were each continued to the January 13, 2026 meeting.
