Finance Committee Backs $33.97 Million School Budget Unanimously
Finance Committee · Meeting of April 1, 2026
AUBURN — Finance Committee endorses Auburn schools budget of nearly $34 million. The School Department's $33,968,107 FY2027 budget represents a 3.92 percent increase, achieved partly through staffing reductions via attrition and offset by a $150,000 federal Title I funding loss. Superintendent Dr.
Elizabeth Chamberland noted the district will not fill several positions while maintaining class sizes. The Committee unanimously backed Bay Path's regional assessment increase of $291,840, Norfolk Agricultural High School's $135,000 budget, and the Youth Commission's $231,233 appropriation. All votes passed unanimously.
