Auburn schools adopt state-required police interaction policy

Auburn School Committee meets with new superintendent, approves required police interaction protocol. Superintendent R.J. Skaza convened his first full committee meeting under Chair Meghan McCrillis, welcoming 16 newly hired teaching staff and announcing the hiring of Kristine Campione as Director of Pupil Services.

The committee unanimously adopted Policy ACL, a state-mandated Protect Act protocol for police interactions, which was required by September 1. The committee also unanimously approved an FY27 School Department Budget Increase for the October 27 Fall Town Meeting that includes funding for an additional special education teacher, one-to-one student support, and supplemental salary for the new Director of Pupil Services.
